District administration Reasi un-moved, MKJM distributes ration, tents

REASI: Amid government’s claims to reach every victim of recently occurred flash-flood fury in J and K and week-long heavy rains, the survivors in remotest areas are still waiting administration’s helping hand, it was alleged by President, Manav Kalyan Jagriti Manch (MKJM) Katra, Karnail Singh after conducting tour of flash-flood affected various villages in district Reasi, on Thursday.
Interacting with MKJM volunteers who were on service in various flash-flood affected areas, Singh said that about 40 houses in Pakhorui were still un-traced, while seven dead bodies were recovered by their activists during rescue operation in the said area. “About 150 Kacha-and-Semi-Kacha houses can collapse any time, but un-fortunately no relief has been made available for victims by the administration”, he said.
He further said that during two days visit in villages of Dangakot, Todh, Devi Garh, Pakhouri they have provided 18 tents to the families who had lost their houses.
Karnail Singh urged upon Union as well as State Government to press its machinery in remote areas of Reasi District where majority of victims were not covered by administration under rescue operation.
Chairperson of MKJM also lauded the role of activists for their contribution in the on-going rescue and relief operation by the Manch. He also asked the activists and volunteers get ready, till the rescue operation is completed.
He was accompanied by local residents including Abdul Rashid, Dewan Ali, Balwan Singh, Prithivi Singh, Gyan Singh, Mool Raj Pandit and others.
