District Administration, Department of Ayush organise Yoga Competition at TRC Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: Department of Ayush Kishtwar in collaboration with the District Administration spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav organized a Yoga Competition at the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC), Kishtwar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various age groups, highlighting the growing interest in yoga as a means to achieve physical and mental well-being. The competition aimed to encourage the c mmunity to integrate yoga into their daily lives. Participants showcased their skills in different yoga postures and sequences, judged by an experienced yoga instructor from J&K Sports Council Rohit Chouhan. The event featured three categories, ensuring inclusive participation.
SSP Kishtwar, Abdul Qayoom who was the chief on the occasion emphasized the importance of yoga in fostering a healthy lifestyle and reducing stress. He praised the Department of Ayush for its initiative and urged residents to continue practicing yoga regularly.
The competition was also graced by the presence of DYSSO Kishtwar Jaffer Sheikh and Dr. Vikram Singh Jamwal, the District Nodal Officer AYUSH Kishtwar. Dr Vikram expressed gratitude to the District Administration for their support and highlighted the benefits of yoga for both physical health and mental clarity. He also announced plans for future yoga camps and workshops to further promote wellness in the district. Winners of the competition in various categories were Ritesh Sen (male); Mysha Fatima (female) under Junior Category (below 14) besides Akash Sharma and Sanjeevani Sharma under the 18 Years Category. Whereas below 25 Years Category Simranjeet was announced as a winner. They were awarded certificates and medals, with top performers receiving special recognition for their exceptional skills. The event concluded with a yoga demonstration by a group of students, besides vote of thanks from Dr. Atul Gupta MO.
