KISHTWAR/UDHAMPUR: District Disaster Management Authority Kishtwar organised a training programme on Wednesday for the awareness of community for preparedness to combat disasters and minimise loss of life and property here at TRC Centre in Kishtwar.
District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The daylong training programme was attended by scores of volunteers and locals of Kishtwar area.
Speaking on the occasion DDC said, such events were must to aware people about preparedness and response towards different natural and manmade disasters to mitigate the losses of life and property.
On the occasion technical experts from SDRF, Civil Defence,CISF, Indian Army, JK Police, Home Guards, Health and other Departments deliberated on different disaster mitigation related topics, while a live demonstrations about immediate and effective response towards different disasters were also presented.
The technical experts along with volunteers also presented a live demonstration of safe evacuation of trapped from the disaster hit structures and buildings.
On the occasion, the team of Fire & Emergency Services also spoke about preventions to avoid fire like disasters and response to face such crises.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Kishori Lal also spoke on different disasters and preparedness to mitigate the losses of life and property.
UDHAMPUR: A mega joint mock exercise on disaster rescue was today conducted by Civil Defence in association with SDRF Udhampur here at Jakhani Park. District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ravinder Kumar who is also Controller of Civil Defence was the Chief Guest.
The programme was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Krishan Lal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Subash Dogra, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Chief Medical Officer, Dr K.C Dogra, Deputy Controller Civil Defence, Shamsher Singh besides other district officers and senior functionaries of BSF, CRPF, J&K Police and a large number of civil society members. District administration had made elaborate arrangements like Security, First Aid, Adequate drinking Water, Electricity Supply, transport, PAS, etc for the mega event.
During the programme, live demonstrations of different types of rescue operations and use of equipment in the disaster management were also made by the trained instructor of the Civil Defence.
