JAMMU: Sunil Dimple, President of Jammu West Assembly Movement led a protest and burnt the copies of the BJP-PDP Budget 2016- 17 presented by the Finance Minister Haseeb Darabu terming it anti poor and directionless. Addressing the protesters, Dimple said that the budget has no separate funds for unemployed youth, daily wagers and tourism development adding that budget presented by the PDP- BJP Coalition Government is direction less, meaningless and has totally failed to come up to the expectations of the common people of the State.
Sunil Dimple said that Finance Minister has not included their demands of exempting the VAT, sale tax in the State on the sale of the LPG, petrol, diesel, kerosene oil. The budget has no provision for the regularisation of the daily wagers of all the departments. He said in the budget there is no provision to control the rising prices in the State. On the whole the budget has totally ignored the winter capital Jammu, alleged Dimple. Dimple urged the Chief Minister and the Finance Minister to review the budget and include their demands in the budget.
Meanwhile, Dimple gave separate Jammu Bandh call on 4th June against the anti people, directionless budget presented by BJP-PDP Government and demanded complete roll back of the budget. He threatened if the government does not take back the VAT sale tax, toll tax in the budget, he will call for indefinite Jammu Bandh after 4th June against this anti people budget. He appealed to all the organisations, political parties. transporters, matadors, autos, buses colleges, schools, traders and people of the Jammu region to observe complete Jammu bandh on 4 June. Other leaders who joined the protest were Sham Saroop Gupta, Harbans Todon, Vijay Khajuria, Sat Pal Sharma, Raman Gupta, S Karan Singh, Ashok Khana, Kulwant Sharma, Mukesh Kumar, Dev Raj, Babu Gupta, Mukesah, Vicky, Jetinder Gupta and Bansi Lal.
