DIG Traffic reviews traffic arrangements ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr in Jammu City

JAMMU: Eid-ul-Fitr festival is celebrated across Jammu every year and heavy gathering of the devotees participate in the Eid prayers at various important locations in Jammu for which adequate traffic Police arrangements are ensured.
In view of the forthcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festival being observed on March 21, 2026 and the expected heavy footfall of devotees, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Traffic Range Jammu, Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughal, conducted a comprehensive inspection of traffic Police arrangements across Jammu city on Friday.
The DIG visited several key locations, including mosques near Railway Station, Mandir-Masjid Point and Eidgah at Residency Road and Jamia Masjid Khatinka Talab to assess preparedness for the festival.
He was accompanied by SSP Traffic City Jammu Amit Bhasin, Additional SP Traffic City Jammu Arvinder Singh Kotwal, DySP Traffic South Jammu Sunniya Wani, DySP Traffic City North Jammu Ashwani Kumar, along with territorial officers and concerned DTIs.
During the visit, the DIG Traffic Jammu stated that, keeping in view the anticipated large gatherings for Eid prayers, adequate traffic Police arrangements have already been put in place around all major mosques and Eidgahs.
He further emphasized that some additional manpower has also been provided to SSP Traffic City Jammu to strengthen traffic deployment to ensure proper parking facilities and prevent congestion.
The DIG further directed traffic Police officers to make public announcements through PA systems from the evening onward, advising citizens to avoid wrong and roadside parking near prayer locations. He also instructed SSP Traffic City Jammu to ensure that all supervisory officers, DTIs, and sector officers are properly briefed and remain vigilant particularly at locations across Jammu district where large gatherings are expected. Additionally, the DIG interacted with members of various mosque committees and discussed traffic-related concerns to ensure seamless arrangements during the festival.
He extended advanced Eid greetings to all organizers on behalf of Traffic Police Jammu Zone.
