JAMMU: Third Christmas T20 Cricket Cup for college students and State cricketers, organised by Range Police Jammu in association with Christian Sports Organisation, began at Parade Ground, here on Saturday.
The tournament was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu. He interacted with participating teams and witnessed inaugural match played between PG Law Sciences and MAM College Jammu.
DIG said that Christmas T20 Cup has become the annual feature and these sports activities are organised to promote talent among youth and to keep them physically and mentally fit and keep them away from anti social evils.
In this tournament 24 teams are participating and the final match will be played on 19th of January 2015.
Beig was accompanied by Fr. Kuriakose, Chairman, Christian Sports Organization, Rajnish Pran, SSP, Staff Officer to DIG JSK Range Jammu, Sanjeev Khajuria, SSP Principal PTS Kathua, Shiv Kumar Chauhan, SP City North Jammu, Parshotam Sharma DDP RPHQ Jammu, Parbeet Singh SDPO City North Jammu, Rajesh Gill, CPO Kathua and Vijay Sabarwal, President Parade Sports Association.
