DIC organises symposium, cultural programme

KATHUA: In order to aware the students about global warming, District Information Centre (DIC), Kathua organised a symposium at Government Girls Middle School Parliwand on Wednesday .
District Education Planning Officer Narinder Singh Sambyal was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Headmaster, Ram Murti, District Information Officer Indu Jamwal, staff and Education Committee Members of the school were present on the occasion.
As many as six students of the school participated in the symposium and threw light on the topic global warming. The participants said basic cause behind the problem of global warming is pollution caused by the industries, automobiles and other activities involving burning of various fuels. Another cause responsible for the problem is the ongoing rapid deforestation. They suggested that problem can be checked by planting more and more trees and checking the pollution.
A panel of three judges adjudged the participants of the symposium.
Janvi Galotra secured the 1st position while the 2nd position was bagged by Ruby Devi and Aditi Sumbria secured the third position.
DEPO Kathua N.S Sambyal congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the staff of the school and students.
A cultural programme on the theme of Environment and Dogri Folk was also presented which was applauded and enjoyed by the audience.
Chief Guest gave away the prizes and certificates to the participants.
The vote of thanks was presented by the Headmaster Ram Murti.
