JAMMU: Many time State champion, Dheeraj Arora and Shreya bagged the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the 32nd Jammu District Table Tennis Championship held under the banner of J and K Table Tennis Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Thursday.
In the men’s title clash, Dheeraj trounced Shorya Sharma 3-1 while Shreya trounced her younger sister, Shzar Sharma 3-1. The men’s veteran singles final won by Dr Prabhjot, who beat Anuj Verma 3-1. In the finals and valedictory function, Secretary, J and K State Sports Council, Wahid Ur Rehman Para was Chief Guest who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up of various age groups.
The (Final) Results: Cadet Boys: Akhilesh bt Divyansh 3-1. Cadet Girls: Iknoor bt Ragini 3-1. Sub-Junior Boys: Saksham bt Akhilesh 3-0. Sub-Junior Girls: Iknoor bt Hargun 3-2. Junior Boys: Ritvik bt Mannan Singh 3-0. Junior Girls: Hargun bt Shreya 3-2.
Prominent among those present at the valedictory function were Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, I.P Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Anil Dutta, Gurvinder Singh Sasan, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh, Sandeep Khadotra, Shorya Sharma, Sheetal Gandotra, Narinder Kaur and Sanjeev Gupta.
