Dharmarth Trust employees’ chain hunger strike enters day 4

JAMMU: To pressurize the administration to redress their demand of constitution of Board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, the employees of Dharmarth Trust, who have started protested for the last 31 day, continued their chain hunger strike on fourth day in entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Hundreds of employees including priests from various units of the trust such as Shri Raghunath Mandir, Hari Bhawan Purmandal, Uttar Behani, Birpur and Central Office Karan Bhawan Sudh Maha Dev assembled at Ranbireshwar Temple and participated in the protest and hunger strike. Talking to reporters, ex-President Kernail Chand Thakur, ex-General Secretary, Pritam Sharma alleged that Secretary of Dharmarth Trust have suspended five employees of the trust on the plea that these employees participated in undesirable activities and used unparliamentarily language against Chairman Trustee and trust management and malign the reputation of the Trust which is incorrect, baseless, manipulated and denied by the employees. “We shall continue our agitation till our demands will be met by the Trust members,” Rajender Shastri (Working President) asserted.
He also raised voice against the trustees and Dharmarth Trust management saying that they are bent upon destroying the Dogra culture. He demanded enquiry by CBI into the misappropriation of funds by the trustees and the Dharmarth Trust management.
Those who sat on chain hunger strike today included Pt Rampaul, Pt Sanjib Kumar, Vijay Salathia, Ravinder Singh, Pt Bodh Raj, Bablu Singh, Raghuvir Singh, Pt Bodh Raj, Vashno Devi and Renu Devi.
Working President, Rajender Shastri appealed to the social, political, religious and civil organizations to come forward for the cause of preserving Dogra heritage and religious places in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile under ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’, a delegation of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association today met with Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP General Secretary (org) Ashok Koul, ex-MLA and BJP leader, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal and Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta and discussed the issues and submitted memorandum to all of them. They discussed a range of important issues relating to the mismanagement of Dharmarth Trust. All the dignitaries gave a patient hearing to the delegation and said that their issues and genuine and assured them to take up all the issues projected by them for examination and redressal to the high-ups.
