DGPC seeks action against culprits of Delhi incident

JAMMU: District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu expressed strong resentment over the inhuman treatment meted out with a Sikh boy at New Delhi by some miscreants. A 12 year old Sikh boy in Rajouri Garden New Delhi was beaten by some unidentified persons and had his hair cut off while he kept on protesting against the act.
The video went viral on the social media which hurt the religious sentiments of Sikhs all over the world.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) strongly condemned this incident. The speakers said as all know that Sikhs don’t go for a hair cut ever, as they have their religious sentiments attached to it. The shocking treatment, which this little boy came under, needs immediate attention and such miscreants need to be booked who play with religious sentiments of Sikhs world over. This is not the first time Sikhs have come under attack in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi area. Some months back also a Sikh person was brutally beaten and had his hair chopped off, said DGPC members. District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee warned the Government of India if such incidents are not taken seriously and not stopped immediately, the Government of India will be responsible for the circumstances in future. They said the Sikhs know how to protect their religion and their identity. This act is all due to the polarisation made by the Government of India in elections and otherwise. District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee further warned that if these kind of incidents are not stopped, the Sikh community will be left with no other option but to decide their future course of action at their own.
Those who were present in the press conference included S. Jagjit Singh, President, DGPC, S. Avtar Singh Khalsa, General Secretary, DGPC, Jathedar Mohinder Singh, Member DGPC and President Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) J&K, S. Harjinder Singh Raina, Member DGPC, S. Kuldeep Singh, Vice President, S. Manmohan Singh, Cashier, DGPC Jammu and S. Mohinder Singh, Joint Secretary, DGPC Jammu.
