DFCO penalises 2 drug stores for not maintaining records

JAMMU: Drugs and Food Control Organisation (DFCO) on Wednesday suspended operation of two medical establishments for two days for not maintaining sale records.
The Inspectorate Staff of DFCO carried out joint inspections of various retail and wholesale establishments in Jammu and Samba in which 32 statutory drug samples were lifted and sent to government drug testing laboratories for analysis.
The Licensing Authority DFCO Jammu and Samba suspended the operations of M/s Arushi Medicate, Satwari, Jammu and M/s Guru Medicos, Bari Brahmana, Samba for two days as both the firms have not maintained their sales records properly.
Show Cause Notices were also served to M/S Satguru Medicos, Jarath, Samba and M/s Dadool Healthcare Jarath, Samba for violating conditions of licenses viz not maintaining sale records, absence of qualified person, etc. The Licensing Authority has also issued improvement notice to M/s Triveni Medicos, Gandhi Nagar, M/s Medicare Chemists, Gandhi Nagar; M/s Modern Chemists, Satwari, M/s Shivalik Medicos, Inside Swami Vivekanand Hospital, Amphalla for necessary compliance i.e to remove deficiencies pointed out by the inspectorate staff within fifteen days.
Meanwhile, M/s Allied Hospital Traders Bahu Plaza was also inspected to check the products of Micro Labs, Bangalore with respect to composition of drugs and their pricing. A detailed investigation in the matter is being carried out to verify the correctness of statements submitted by the said firm.
