SRINAGAR: Condemning the use of force on Panchayat Coordinators associated with Education Department, J and K Pradesh Congress Committee(JKPCC) President G.A Mir has lashed out at State Government, particularly, the department concerned for trying to make the Saakshar Bhart Misson, a defunct scheme to serve its vested interests.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, Mir said attempts are being made to show door to the Panchayat Coordinators by making the scheme launched by UPA Government as defunct, the scheme known as (PREPRAKS) is very use to people especially down trodden sections of the society.
Blaming the government for conspiring and denying the right to Panchayat Coordinators they deserve, Mir said that these qualified youths (Panchayat Coordinators) who are rendering their services under Saakshar Bharat Mission popularly known as ‘PRERAKS’ a centrally sponsored scheme launched by UPA regime, are getting only Rs 2000 per month since five years, but this is unfortunate, that they are being denied their right of permanent absorption, which is not only unfortunate, but a matter of serious concern. Mir said UPA Government under Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh launched this scheme aiming to enhance female literacy and adult literacy in the year 2012, but this is ironical, the ruling dispensation under a well-planned conspiracy are punishing these poor employees merely on political lines. Rather than taken effective measures to contain the unemployment menace, the ruling dispensation is hell bent upon to give rise to unemployment, which is very surprising, Mir added.
Mir urged upon the government to devise a job policy for these Panchayat Coordinators and ensure that people are benefitted in the entire State through this scheme.
