AKHNOOR: Veteran Congress leader and former Minister and MP Madan Lal Sharma while addressing a series of public meetings at Maniwala W.NO. 6,7 , Jouria W.No. 4,5, Chak Bhagwana, Kali Bari in Akhnoor Constituency sought support and votes in favour of Sham Lal Sharma PHE Minister and said that development is the only poll plank of the Congress and people must judge the scenario on ground.
He said that during the last 12 years massive development in all vital sectors has taken place and change is visible which has been acknowledged by the people themselves. Sharma said that both him and Sham Lal Sharma have been tested by the people in past and said that during their tenure in power they had laid no stone unturned for the overall development of Akhnoor in particular and State in general without any discrimination of caste, creed, colour, rich and poor .
He appealed to the people to vote for Sham Lal Sharma because Congress is the only party which can provide justice to all sections of the society. He cautioned the people against the hollow slogan mongers and communal forces, which make the politics of dividing the communities. He said such forces only surface at the time of elections and mislead the people by spreading false propaganda, inciting the sentiments of innocents. Sharma also said that the people should not fall prey to their nefarious designs and must teach them a lesson.
Earlier Sharma paid rich floral tributes to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru at Congress office Akhnoor and remembered his contribution in making India strong.
