‘Development to get new meaning in Nagrota’
STATE TIMES NEWS
NAGROTA: Provincial President National Conference, Devender Singh Rana on Friday said that putting Nagrota on top development gear is not a charity but legitimate right of the people that should have taken place far earlier.
“Now that phased and planned development of the constituency is given high priority it should not peeve those who failed despite the so-called mandate”, Rana said while addressing series of election meetings at Pargalta, Churta, Kanyala, Jandrah and Dhan.
He added that the level of effort made in recent years to change the profile of this important constituency has unnerved those who were supposed to undertake development and pursue implementation of various welfare schemes despite getting two terms. However, he said, they failed miserably, let down their voters and remained untraceable to the people during all these years. “Now that they were trying to be visible for seeking votes, they have no answers to the queries being raised by the people wherever they go”, he said and vowed that he will not look back till the constituency flourishes as per dreams of the people.
Rana said that development will get a new meaning in Nagrota with all resources getting pooled to ensure good roads, dependable water and power supply, effective service sectors like health and education besides thrust of schemes carved out for rural development. “This constituency has to grow as a blend of rural-urban combination where people can take pride in having best of the services at their disposal”, he said while referring to the initiatives already taken in this regard during the past few years. He said his main thrust as Member Legislative Council has been to put most needed services in place. Given this challenge, Rana said, “He remained steadfast in his resolve to take the developmental schemes to their logical conclusion with the active support of people”.
The Provincial President, who is National Conference candidate for the constituency, made a particular mention of youth, saying their grit and determination about the development of the constituency inspired him to go ahead with his chartered mission with sincerity of purpose. He said development would be meaningless as long as the energies of the young people are channelised in proper direction. In this context, he said the young people have got benefitted by various programmes launched by the Omar led government but still ‘much is required to be done on this front’. He reiterated his resolve to knock every door for getting the problems of young people solved.
Rana appreciated the concern of Nagrota people for progress and development of their constituency. “To achieve this, they have pushed the petty politics in backburner and got involved with initiatives being taken to raise infrastructural development projects in different sectors”, he said and assured this journey will continue with renewed vigour in the next six years.
On this occasion, several BJP, BSP and Congress workers joined the National Conference for the larger interest of Nagrota Constituency. They reposed their faith in the policies and programmes of the party and pledged to work for progress of Nagrota.
