Develop park, not flats on Auqaf land in Patta Bohri: Residents

JAMMU: Expressing res-entment against the government for its plan to construct housing flats in the thickly populated area on a piece of land owned by Auqaf Department, the resident under the banner of All Mohalla Welfare Committee Patta Bohri took out a massive rally here on Sunday.
The rally held by hundreds of resident of Patta Bohri and its adjoining areas started from Kashmir Hills Resort and passed through BSF Gate Paloura, Friends Colony, Bohri Chowk, Colonels Colony, Anand Nagar and culminated at Patta Chungi near the proposed construction site.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajveer Singh, a resident of Patta Bohri, lambasted the government for not paying any attention to the cause taken up by the local residents.
The residents of the area urged upon the government through civil administration for establishing a public park at the proposed construction site owned by Auqaf Department but the government has not paid any attention towards repeated requests. They warned government that they will not suspend their agitation until their demand is considered.
Ramesh Sharma, Davin-der Sharma, Bhushan Kesar, Jagbhushan Thap-pa, Vikas Dewan, Kuldeep Singh Raja, Jeet Singh, Suneet Singh, Sandesh Koul, Rekha Devi, Soma Devi, Akshay Malhotra, Mohit Sharma, Arun Sha-rma, Dr Vijay Parimoo, Arjun Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Sanjay Manhas, Deepak Singh and Ashok Singh were also present.
