Deteriorating sanitary condition
Dear Editor,
Modern materialistic human beings have only destroyed and polluted the environment. Jammu city is one of the under-developed cities in India and the surrounding areas of the city are also too much polluted. Even the centre or hub of transport system i.e., Bus stand of Jammu City is also immensely polluted with polythene, garbage, etc. I wonder what is the concept of smart cities. From one side a little bit area of Jammu city is cleaned and sweeped daily but on the other side neighbourhood areas remain polluted. Is this the concept of eco-friendly administration of JMC? Bhathandi, Narwal, Channi, Bantalab, Kot Bhalwal, Bhalwal, Muthi, Paloura, Mishriwala, etc. are the most polluted areas in Jammu.
In Mishriwala there is a JMC’s dumping site of polythene, garbage; etc but without demarcation/ceiling and one can easily see the impact of dumping site on neighbourhood areas. Iguers, within short period of time, whole Jammu city will be turned into a Garbage city of India because of incompetent and inefficient administrators of JMC. It is moral duty of every citizen of Jammu city to introspect in this regard and save environment from pollution. Smart living in smart cities doesn’t mean polluting the neighhbourhood.
Wake up JMC at the earliest and save environment of Jammu for eco and sustainable development. Beautiful cities are not developed by beautiful and tall buildings but by saving environment from every type of pollution.
