JAMMU: Questioning the role played by the representatives of Jammu region to ensure development and mitigation of problems, Bharat Raksha Manch (BRM) on Friday said that despite a brigade of about 25 legislators, Jammu is facing severe prejudice and discrimination.
Chairing a meeting of Bharat Raksha Manch here at Bawa Palace, Shakti Nagar Vinod Kumar Gupta, (Retired IAS) State President BRM said that disparity in fund allocation between Kashmir and Jammu especially in health sector as pointed out by the Principal GMC Jammu yesterday, is a serious matter and should be raised vociferously.
He also expressed concern over frequent disruptions in ongoing Amarnath Yatra and shrinking number of devotees due to unwarranted activities of some miscreants.
The meeting also raised the issue for erratic power supply in Jammu region and poor civic facilities being provided to Jammu which were drastically exposed during early morning rains on Wednesday which wreak havoc even in the heart of Jammu City.
Mohan Singh Rana (State Convenor), Bawa Sharma (Treasurer), Naresh Sharma (General Secretary), Sat Pal Karlupia (Secretary) and Kamal Singh Jamwal (Media Secretary) were also present.
