DEO stresses for adherence of MCC

ANANTNAG: Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag Tasaduq Jeelani who is also the District Election Officer on Wednesday convened a political party meet at Anantnag in which representatives of various political parties participated.
Information regarding the guide lines on MCC issued by Election Commission of India for free, fair and transparent elections were shared with the representatives. The DEO stressed upon all the political parties to strictly adhere to the MCC and advised them to deposit expenditure statement on daily basis in the offices of respective ROs. He said as per ECI guidelines there is blanket ban on use of polythene during campaigning which should be adhered strictly.
DEO also directed that no Government building, wall, or electric pole should be used for posters.
DEO informed the representatives to remain present during the first level checking of EVMS. He also directed them to provide the list of polling agent’s booth wise at the earliest.
Issues related to filling of nomination papers in light of the new guidelines were also discussed in the meeting.
