SRINAGAR: President Dental Surgeons Association Jammu Kashmir (DSA-JK) Dr Asif Iqbal on Sunday condemned thrashing of on duty Dental Surgeon Dr Javid Qanungo yesterday at PHC Burzhama here.
The Dentist received a patient on December 27, at around 12:30 PM with vertical tooth impaction. After proper examination and X-Ray, she was referred to Dental College Srinagar for expert surgical intervention. At around 1.15 pm, husband of the patient barged into doctor’s room and resorted to unprovoked thrashing of doctor and two female hospital staffers. “Despite the fact that FIR No. 70 is registered in Police Station Zakura, the culprit has not been arrested”, Asif rued.
Asif on behalf of DSA-JK, demanded immediate arrest of the culprit and sought a law for the safety of doctors.
