Delhi wrestler Amit lifts Majalta-Katheel Dangal title

KATRA: Wrestler Amit of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi clinched the 103rd Annual Majalta-Katheel Kesari Dangal title outplaying wrestler Nisar Ahmed of Doda for the main bout played at Katheel in District Udhumpur under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Subash Chander Sharma (President of Dangal Committee).
Dangal was organized by Katheel Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. In all, 33 bouts were played in the one day long Dangal.
MLA Ramnagar, R.S Pathania was the Chief Guest who gave away cash prizes to the winner and runner-up wrestlers.
Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also President Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra Presided over the function. Dr. B.D Gupta and Retd. Headmaster and Sarpanch Peoni Raghubir Singh were the Guests of Honour.
Winner Amit of Delhi was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 6,000 while runner-up wrestler Nisar got Rs. 5,000. Prizes were given away by MLA R.S Pathania, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Subash Chander Sharma and Lochan Singh.
Second main bout played between Roshan Lal of J&K Police and Ajay of Udhampur was ended in a draw that lasted for 25 minutes. Third bout was won by Babba of Kat Bhawal who defeated Amit of Rothak. Fourth bout was won by Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal who defeated Mohd Sadiq of Domana Akhara and fifth bout was won by Dinu of Kathua who defeated Aseen of Dinanagar.
Members of the Dangal Committee and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this wrestling event included Subash Chander Sharma (President), Lochan Singh, Master Mulk Raj Gupta, Des Raj Sharma, Prem Chand Khajuria, Baba Ram A.S.I (Retd.), Ratten Lal Verma (Cashier), Manohar Lal Gupta, Mohd. Fareed and Tulinder Kumar.
Sarpanch Kartar Singh, Sarpanch Hans Raj, District Udhampur General Secretary Indian Style Wrestling Association Om Parkash Verma, Retd. Teacher Simer Dev Singh, A.S.I Shiv Ram (Retd.), Kuldeep Singh and Sarpanch Dina Nath were prominent among those who were present.
