NOWSHERA: While referring to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Panchayat Chairman Baldev Raj said that almost all the Panchayats in the rural area had constructed toilets /lavatory blocks under MGNREGA but no payments have been received by the Panchayats from Rural Development Department.
He said that due to non-payment of this amount, the daily wagers have to suffer and it becomes extremely difficult for the Panchayat representatives to carry out further developmental works under MGNREGA.
Prominent among those present included Sarpanch Satvir Kumar, Jagdish Chander, Ashok Kumar and others.
Meanwhile, the BDO Nowshera said that over 70 per cent payments under MGNREGA have been released while the balance amount will be released by the government soon.
