Debate held on health issue

JAMMU: Vishwa Ayurved Parishad (VAP) in collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School, Bahu Fort Jammu on Monday organised a debate on health issues.
Dr. Virender Gupta former Deputy Director, Ayurved was the Guest of Honour.
The function was presided over by Dr. Govind Ram Gupta, President VAP, which was started with the lighting of the traditional lamp. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Shabir Ahmed Mattoo.
Fourteen students participated in the debate including Umey Salma (11th), Kiran Devi (11th), Nancy Verma (12th), Deepika (12th), Madhubala (12th), Anchal Khoker (11th), Vanshika (10th), Kajal Verma (11th), Sohail Wani (9th), Pakeezah (11th), Kewal Singh (11th), Anmol (9th), Azra (11th) and Javed (12th). Among the participants, Umey Salma, Kiran Devi and Nancy bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Kiran Sathu Former Assistant Director, Languages, Radio Kashmir Jammu, Yasmeen Kouser and Dr. Arun Jandial were the adjudicators.
Students also presented cultural programme and skits under the guidance of Amarjeet Kour.
Among others who spoke on the occasion included, principal of the school R.G Dogra, Dr. Shabir Ahmad Mattoo, Rajeev Charak and other social activists.
Earlier, Govind Ram in his presidential address briefed the audience about various programmes undertaken during this health awareness fortnight started on Dhanwantri Jayanti.
The function concluded with distribution of prizes and vote of thanks was presented by Seema Kundal, staff secretary of the school.
