DDC Rajouri for educating farmers about farm development schemes

RAJOURI: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Friday reviewed the performance of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department here at a meeting of the concerned officers held in the Agriculture Office Complex.The meeting was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Sohan Singh and other concerned officers. During the meeting, the DDC took a comprehensive review of the implementation and achievements registered under Farming sector schemes by the department. The meeting reviewed the achievements recorded under the Capex Budget, PMDP, MIDH, Apiculture Development Scheme, besides issuance of Kissan Credit Card (KCC), Soil Health Card and number of farmers benefited under PM Kissan Sanman Nidhi. The DDC issued instructions to the field staff to complete the e-KYC, NPCI of PM Kissan Sanman Nidhi beneficiaries in a time bound manner. Asking to meet the targets under different schemes in a time bound manner, he laid stress on reaching out to the last man in queue. Spreading mass awareness among the farmers about different welfare schemes being implemented by the Department in the district was also stressed upon. He asked the officers to educate the farmers about the benefits of such schemes and motivate them to avail the benefits of the same. He also emphasized upon the concerned officers to conduct field visits to get real time feedback from farmers.
