DDC interacts with prominent citizens

POONCH: To discuss various issues regarding development and maintenance of law and order, District Development Commissioner, M.H Malik convened a meeting of prominent citizens on Wednesday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mumtaz Ali Chowdhary, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shafiq Ahmed Choudhary, DySP Hqr, Deepak Digra and a large number of prominent citizens including K.K Kapoor, Taj Mir, Maulana Syed Habib, K.D Maini, Adv. Sanjay Raina, Zaki Jafri, and Manzoor Hussain were present in the meeting.
Highlighting the role of civil society in ensuring peace and development, the DDC appealed to the prominent citizens to educate people on various developmental issues so that important works are not held up unnecessarily. Appreciating the cooperation of civil society during the Assembly elections, he further asked them for cooperation with the administration in addressing vital public issues.
Commending the district administration for peaceful conduct of Assembly elections, prominent citizens apprised the District Development Commissioner about the problems faced by the people of the city. The issues which were raised by them included declaring flood prone areas of city as non-construction zone, permanent restoration of SK Bridge, check on adulteration of eatables, uninterrupted power supply, check on increasing incidents of theft in the city etc.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that their demands and problems are already being addressed by the district administration while further saying that district administration is very much committed to curb any type of menace including theft in and around the city and the concerned officers are maintaining a strict vigil to avoid any menace. He also asked them to cooperate in rationalisation of Bus Stand Poonch.
