DDC for efficient public service delivery

UDHAMPUR: The District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary convened a meeting of all district and sectoral officers to review the functioning of departments and setting up mechanism for efficient public grievance redressal system as well as eliciting greater public participation in developmental works.
The DDC directed the officials to remain available at station, ensure regularity and punctuality in field offices, establish fast communication mechanism, follow timeline of grievance redressal and developmental works, ensure maintenance of essential services & supplies, make Public Service Guarantee Act a success and involve people in developmental process. He directed for immediate compilation of issues related to land disputes halting construction works, court cases and departmental enquiries. Departments have been asked to furnish complete list of departmental lands, assets, works and infrastructure for optimum utilisation.
District Officers have been directed to work under convergence model for inter-sectoral works. Stress will be laid on effective Information Education and Communication campaign in the district for greater dissemination of information to ensure wider participation. The DDC directed that stringent action shall be initiated against delinquent and non-performing officers while rewarding the efficient officers. He also called for improvement in public service delivery and strengthening of Panchayats.
The DDC impressed upon officers to revamp the field officers and strengthen inter-departmental coordination for better public service.
SSP Suleman Choudhary, ADC Angrez Singh Rana, Joint Director Planning Rakesh Jamwal, ACR, ACD, GM DIC, PO DRDA, Xen of PHE, PDD, PMGSY, STD, REW, DIO, DIO-NIC, district Officers of all the departments attended the meeting.
