DDC for action against poor performing school management

UDHAMPUR: The District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary convened a review meeting of Chief Education Officer, DEPO, DIET, Zonal Education Officers, Zonal Education Planning Officers, Principals of Higher Secondary Schools, and Headmaster of High Schools in the district.
The DDC reviewed the performance of various schools and educational zones viz-a-viz results of various classes, school dropout, additional class room construction, mid day meal, construction of toilets, school development, sports events, debates, science exhibitions, teacher training, maintenance of punctuality, functioning of Village Education Committees, parent-teacher meets, exposure tours for students.
Education Officer and ZEOs presented a resume of various activities and performance of different parameters. Taking serious note of the poor performance of various educational zones, complaints regarding poor construction work and issues related to specific schools ,the DDC directed the CEO for fixing responsibilities of the delinquent officials of the department. He informed that a monthly review of the teachers will be taken and more than 40 senior officers of district administration will be assigned key schools, high and higher Secondary, for facilitating day to day development in education and direct supervision of education by the DDC.
Dr Shahid called upon the officers to furnish monthly calendar of schools and zones for sports activities, cultural programmes, exposure tours, science exhibitions, debate competitions, essay writing contests at zonal and district level, poetry and language competition. Students will be rewarded for their performance on monthly basis.
Later, Dr Shahid convened a meeting of PHE Department and reviewed the status water supply in urban and rural areas, supply schemes, and tanker services, maintenance of filtration plants, staff position, village committees and also complaint cells. XEn PHE Nissar Khan, XEn Mechanical, XEn PDD, AEEs, JEs and other technical staff attended the meeting and presented a resume of water supply status.
Department has been directed to ensure prompt response of field officials for public grievances, supply breakdown and other urgent requirements.
The DDC expressed satisfaction over status on ongoing developmental works and directed the department to prepare a plan within one week for replacement of old pipes in Udhampur town for enhancing supply in all
