DDC discusses stamp duty revision

RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner Ramban, Bashir Ahmed Dar on Tuesday convened a meeting to review and revise stamp duties on irrigated and un irrigated land in the district.
The meeting was attended by ACR, Ramban, XEn PWD, Tehsildars, Executive Officers and other concerned officers.
Threadbare discussion was made on prevailing rates of irrigated and un irrigated land and modalities for revising the rates in relation to availability of road connectivity, hydel projects, railways stations, tourist destinations and four lane NH.
DDC exhorted upon the officers to propose thirty percent minimum increase in the fixed rates besides depicting the reasons for proposing highest rates. He also asked the officers to submit the lists of new proposed rates within week’s time.
Meanwhile, Tehsil wise progress on NFSA and biometric enrolment was also reviewed in the meeting by DDC. In this regard he directed the Tehsildars to personally monitor the progress.
