Seeks cooperation to ensure peace & drug free society

JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya and SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar on Thursday held an interactive meeting with prominent religious leaders of District Jammu at DPL Jammu.
The DC sought the cooperation of religious leaders in ensuring peace & normalcy in the district.
SSP Jammu asked the religious heads to remain vigilant regarding the misinformation/fake news propagated on social media by mischief mongers and said that the religious leaders and Management Committees have a key role in maintaining peace and brotherhood among different communities and sections of society.
He also appealed to them to use their influence for ensuring drug free society.
He also impressed upon them to sensitize people to remain vigilant about the mischief mongers who spread misinformation on social media and try to disrupt peace and brotherhood and assured them that all such elements will be identified and desired legal action will be taken.
The Religious leaders assured full support to the administration in this regard. They pledged to follow in letter and spirit the decisions and directions of administration.
DC Jammu emphasized that the war against the drugs will be won only by collective efforts and everyone needs to be responsible at this critical juncture.
Zonal SsP of District Jammu and other senior officers were also present during the interaction.
