SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah inaugurated Road Safety Week in Zabarwan Park Srinagar here on Monday which was organized by the Regional Transport Office in collaboration with J and K Traffic Police.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that we must save the precious lives and we should adhere the traffic rules, so that accidents shall not take place. He appealed the people not to allow their children without driving license to the drive the vehicles and emphasized for organizing more road side camps to make people aware about the safety rules in Srinagar city.
The Superintendent of Traffic Police City said that one lakh Challans have been imposed on the traffic violators and subsequently fine was recovered from them. He also appealed driver community to adopt traffic rules and regulations so that the road accidents shall not occur.
Among others, Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, officers of Traffic Police Srinagar, members of J and K Cyclist Association, White Water Rafting Association, Monitoring Hiking Club, representatives of Transporters and other dignitaries of the society.
