DC, Samba Mubarak Singh reviews relief measures for border firing victims

SAMBA: The Deputy Commissioner, Samba Mubarak Singh on Saturday convened a high level meeting of senior civil and police officers here today and reviewed the arrangements made for shifting of affected people in border firing.
The Deputy Commissioner exhorted upon the officers to make all necessary arrangements for safeguarding the life and property of the people. The Addl SP Samba asked to provide bullet proof vehicles for shifting of people from zero line to safer zones.
It was informed that a control room has been established in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Samba that will function round the clock. All the Block Development Officers were directed to make liaison with Sarpanchs/Panchs and local people and issue advisory to people regarding safety measures need to be taken in case of shelling.
It was informed that sixteen temporary shelter camps have been established in the district at various places ‘viz’ Chichi Mata Temple Complex, Community Hall-Kalibari, Nonath Ashram, Narsingh Dev Ji Temple Complex, Panchayat Ghar Madoon , Community Hall- Abtal, Govt Higher Secondary School Ramgarh, Shiv MandirRakhAmbTali, KabirMandir, RakhAmbTali, Govt. High School Rehian etc to accommodate the affected families.
The Deputy Commissioner directed for making these temporary shelter camps fully functional besides providing basic necessary arrangements ‘viz’ food, drinking water, security, sanitation, medical assistance, etc there.
The Chief Medical Officer Samba was directed to keep available sufficient stock of medicines/ambulance to deal with emergent situation while the Executive Engineer PHE, PWD, CEO and PDD were directed to make adequate arrangements at temporary shelter camps and coordinate relief and rescue measures.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner, Samba visited border villages viz. Banglar, Regal Rajpura and some of the temporary shelter camps. He met the affected people and listened to their grievances and assured them of all possible assistance from the administration.
