POONCH: Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, M.H Malik, convened a meeting of officers of the Revenue Department on Tuesday to review the functioning of the department.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mendhar, Ramesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shafeeq Ahmed Choudhary, Tehsildar Haveli, Auqil Navaid, Tehisldar Mandi, Amir Ayaz Rather, Tehsildar Surankote, Abid Hussain, Tehsildar Mendhar, Rafiq Ahmed, Tehsildar Mankote, Shehzad Khan and Naib Tehsildars of the respective Naibats attended the meeting wherein the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the functioning of various aspects of the department i.e. protection of Kahacharai and State Land from encroachment, settlement, Jamabandhi, land acquisition, Roshni Act, recovery of Abiana etc.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all the concerned officers to conduct proper and timely inspection of the revenue record to ensure its proper maintenance while Tehsildars were instructed to supervise and expedite the process of ongoing Jamabandhi Dour and Settlement in the respective Tehsils. He directed them to ensure that all the encroachers are evicted from the Kahcharai and State land. He further directed them to ensure that there is no conversion of agricultural land for commercial purposes and expedite the process of land acquisition so that no developmental project is held up.
Tehsildar Haveli was asked to identify land for development of housing colonies and for shifting of food store Poonch outside the city to a suitable place. He also instructed the field staff to respond immediately wherever reports in every case have been sought and desist from writing vague and irrelevant reports.
He also instructed the Tehsildars to identify State land in their respective Tehsils and submit the details to Assistant Commissioner Revenue for constitution of State Land Bank in the district. They were also directed to furnish tour diaries of their subordinate officers/officials to Assistant Commissioner Revenue who shall submit the same to Deputy Commissioner.
