DC Jammu urges officers to be punctual, strengthen public outreach

JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya on Tuesday chaired an introductory meeting of district officers here in the DC office. Speaking to the officers, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on punctuality in government offices, saying timely attendance is crucial for public services. He directed officers to be available for public interactions until 2 pm daily. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for meticulous handling of the files, advocating for their diligent disposal and prompt resolution. He also underlined the need for prompt redress of issues of rural and border areas, recognising their unique challenges. The DC acknowledged Jammu district’s remarkable performance in good governance indices and urged all officers to maintain this distinction. Sub Division Magistrates and Tehsildars were tasked with actively managing the affairs of their respective jurisdictions. The DC highlighted the essential nature of close collaboration among the officials and engineering departments to expedite developmental projects. The Deputy Commissioner also encouraged district officers to review the functioning of their respective departments on regular intervals. He called for a realignment of their focus on communication with the public and enhancing public welfare.
