DC Jammu inspects Amrit Sarovar at Bhalwal

JAMMU: The Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa visited Bhalwal Block and inspected various Amrit Sarovar works, here on Friday.
She was accompanied with ACD Preeti Sharma along with other block officers during the visit.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the repair and renovation of Amrit Sarovar ponds at Panchayat Bhalwal, Seri Panditan and Kiaing village.
The DC also took stock of different developmental works being executed in block under Mission Amrit Sarovar.
Expressing her satisfaction over the Amrit Sarovar works, the Deputy Commissioner said that Amrit Sarovars constructed by RDD have become sources of generation of rural livelihood as the water of these Amrit Sarovars is being used for Irrigation, Fisheries, Duckery, Animal Husbandry and water tourism besides they are vital assets to protect the environment.
The DC also asked the concerned to strengthen catchment areas, beautification of ponds along with its surrounding, construction of sidewalks and cleanliness of ponds so that people can get full advantage of ponds.
