DB seeks status report on illegal construction in Katra

JAMMU: In a Public Interest Litigation regarding illegal construction being carried around the upcoming Railway Station which according to complainant is within the knowledge of Katra Development Authority, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice M.M Kumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan after hearing battery of lawyers, directed the matter be listed on 10th December, 2014 for consideration.
Advocate Ajay Sharma appearing for PIL pointed out that orders dated 31st December, 2013 and dated 1st April, 2014 have not been fully complied with. Referring to various categories carved out in the aforesaid orders, it has been urged that many buildings have been left out on one excuse or the other.
On the other hand AAG Seema Shekhar appearing for the state submitted that in order to have the details of such violations, wishes to seek details and then make submissions.
Senior Advocate R.S Thakur submitted that CMA Nos. 2266/2014 and 2288/2014 have been filed on behalf of the persons, whose establishments have been sealed by the Deputy Commissioner or other authorities. The said applications are allowed and the arguments on behalf of the interveners shall be heard.
Senior Advocate D.C Raina appearing for the Shrine Board has submitted that the status reports filed before this Court and their replies by the petitioners have not been furnished to the briefing counsel Advocate Anil Verma. Upon this Division Bench directed both sides to furnish status report and directed registry to list this matter on 10th December, 2014 for further consideration. JNF
