DB seeks status of action taken against unauthorised constructions

JAMMU: A Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjeev Kumar on Tuesday gave three weeks to Senior Additional Advocate General S.S Nanda to file the status report and to apprise the Court about the steps taken by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for demolition of unauthorised constructions after issuance of notices on them. The court directions came after a letter written by Amit Dalia, a social activist regarding constructions of illegal buildings in the Jammu city which include the Master Plan violations was treated as Public Interest Litigation (PIL).
The DB also granted week’s time to place on record a copy of the Act by which the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Laws (Special Provisions) (Amendment) Act, 2017 has come into operation with effect from July 8, 2017.
