STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Hasnain Masoodi and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal on Tuesday issued notice to the State to tell what action it has taken till now against the separatist leaders Masarat Alam and Asiya Andrabi who had raised voice against India.
Division Bench issued notice to the state which has been received by P.S Chandel and ASGI Sindhu Sharma and they have been directed to tell the Court within a day that what sort of action they have taken against these separatist leaders till date.
The notice was issued in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Advocates Sanjay Verma and Deeraj Choudhary.
During the course of hearing, senior Advocate S.S Lehar along with Advocate Aditya Sharma argued that a rally was organised by the separatist leaders with a gathering of around 150-200 people and slogans were raised against India but news agencies have shown as if whole of the state is against India. Further they have argued that such news items create law and order problem in the state and thus as the effect of such news the peace in the State has been disturbed.
The matter has been posted for listing for day after tomorrow where state has to show what steps it has taken till now to curb such anti-national activities. JNF
