DB disposes off PIL for construction of Samba Court complex

JAMMU: Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by one Ganesh Sharma seeking construction of District Court Complex in Samba observed that during pendency of the petition the department has taken up the matter and passed orders sanctioning Rs.20.27 crore for construction of District Court Complex at Samba and out of the approved cost of Rs.20.27 crore an amount of Rs.244.00 lakh (Rs. 61.00 lakh State Government share and Rs.183.00 lakh as Central Government share) was released in favour of the Corporation.
The DB further observed that in view of the subsequent development, the prayer made in the writ petition is rendered infructuous. “If any necessity arises, it is open for the petitioner to project his grievance in separate proceedings”, Court observed and closed the proceedings of the PIL. JNF
