Cultural shows by Tourism Deptt woo Amarnath Yatris

JAMMU: The cultural programmes being organised by Directorate of Tourism, Jammu in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Research every evening at Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu are witnessing an enthralling response.
The objective of organising the show is to explore the hidden talent of local artists by showcasing the different dance forms of Jammu and Kashmir to the visiting Amarnath Yatris so that they can act as ambassadors of JK Tourism for attracting more tourists to the state. The event was started from 1st July the inauguration of Amarnath Yatra- for one week time and witnessed huge audience enjoying daily performances. Keeping in view the success and the demand, cultural programmes were extended and continued till Yatra period. A captivating cultural programme was presented by the artists of Indian Council for Cultural Research, Jammu here tonight. Sushma Chauhan, Director Tourism, Jammu and Sanjay Kalgaoankar, Executive Director, National Hydroelectric Project Corporation, Jammu were present among the Yatris to encourage the artists and also to witness the riveting show.
The Director Tourism expressed gratitude NHPC for coming forward as Co- sponsor of the event. She assured the gathering that Tourism Department shall continue to organize more such events in future for the promotion of rich Cultural heritage of the State. On the sidelines of the cultural programmes, City and Border Tour buses were started from Yatri Niwas to take the Yatris to famous tourist destinations of Jammu City.
