Cultural academy pays tribute to Pt. Kerni

KATHUA: To pay tributes to Pt. Krishan Kumar Kerni, renowned Dogri poet and Astrologist who expired on 23rd October 2014 a Dogri Mushiara was organised at his native village, Mara Patti, Mahanpur, Kathua.
Shiv Dev Singh Susheel, prominent Dogri poet, short story writer and novelist presided while Dalip Kumar Gupta, Vice Principal, Govt Higher Scendary School, Mara Patti was the Chief Guest. Naresh Kerni son of the deceased poet Late K.K Kerni and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J and K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu were also present in the presidium.
While delivering his presidential address, Shiv Dev Singh Susheel complimented academy for taking such initiatives to remember the great poets and intellectuals like Pt. K. K Kerni who sacrificed their whole life in serving the humanity through their poetry. While speaking about the contribution of late Kerni he said that as Dogri poet Pt. Kerni had three collections of poetry. He also paid his tribute to the departed Soul.
Dalip Kumar Gupta, Vice Principal, while addressing the gathering appreciated and thanked Cultural Academy for organising this Mushaira .
Earlier while welcoming the audience, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that Cultural Academy has taken an initiative to remember the prominent writer, poet and astrologist late K. K. Kerni here at this place who has contributed in Dogri, Hindi and Sanskrit languages.
The collection of Dogri poems and Qawwali written by late Pt. K. K Kerni was also released on this occasion.
Naresh Kerni, son of late K. K Kerni also spoke on the occasion.
The poets who participated in this Mushaira include: Shivdev Shusheel , Sanjeev Sharma, Romesh Banotra, Krishan Singh Jamwal, Pawan Bloria, Girdhari Lal Afsos, Dr. Bharat Bhushan Shastri, Suresh Shastri, Manzoor Ahmad Lutfi, Mir Qasim Mir, Mohd. Rafeeq Rafeeq, Ashok Amber, Krishan Lal Garji, Krishan Singh Jasrotia, Lekh Raj Verma, Pankaj Kumar and Raj Bolria,
Among others those present include: Bhopinder Singh , Sunil Sharma and Sham Lal Sharma, Shiv Doblia, Pt. Mansa Ram, teachers, staff, students and local residents of Mara Patta.
Rattan Lal Basotra, Assistant Editor, Cultural Academy conducted the proceedings of the programme while Kali Das Sharma, Lecturer in Hindi of the School presented vote of thanks. A two minutes silence was also observed in this tributary function.
