Cultural Academy honours London based Pahari scholar

RAJOURI: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Sub Office Rajouri in collaboration with Dabistan e Himalaya, a literary wing of Himalayan Education Mission Society Rajouri honored a famous Pahari fiction writer, producer and writer of first ever Pahari Film ‘Lakeer’ Ali Adalat from The UK at Himalayan Education Mission Rajouri, in which Pahari poets, singers and musician recited their unpublished and latest poetry, performed on the occasion and mesmerised the jam packed hall of audience. Dr. Alamdar Adam Cultural Officer Rajouri/Poonch in his welcome address threw light on Pahari culture, literature, folk art, folk music, folk Geet and folk paintings of Pir Panjal region.
Dr Adam also spoke on the contribution of Ali Adalat in the field of Pahari fiction, drama and a Pahari Magazine ‘Chitka’ Publishing from UK. Meanwhile a shield was presented by Cultural Academy Sub Office Rajouri and shawl and memento by Dabistan e Himala to Ali Adalat who was Chief Guest and centre of attraction on the occasion.
Nisar Hussain Rahi, an awardee Pahari writer of Pir Punjal region readout a detailed paper on life and contribution of Ali Adalat especially in context with Pahari language.
Noted film maker and director of the historical Pahari film Lakeer Shiv Dutt stressed upon all the Pahari writers and poets to maintain the originality and beauty of Pahari language. Founder patron of HEM Society Farooq Muzter showered all praises on the two Pahari giants and highlighted their significant contribution to promotion and preservation of Pahari language. He expressed his desire to organise series of such programmes in the regional languages as there is umpteen talent in the writers of such languages who deserve to be given a platform for sharing, he also appreciated the variegated initiatives of Dr Alamdar Adam Cultural Officer Rajouri/Poonch.
Ali Adalat in his address underlined the importance of mother tongue its use in our daily life especially in our younger generation to initiate the implementation and exploration of the hidden Pahari culture in the passages of Peer Panjal region. The awareness must inculcate to ooze the old glorious civilisation which is yet to be implemented among the future generation for the identification and escalation of future prospects of Pahari language ,codes and customs to hamper the on slot of western civilisation with which the youths of the present era are badly involved. Others who spoke on the occasion were Mohd Azam Shah, Iqbal Shawl, Parvaiz Malik, Salim Javaid Qureshi, Mohd Rashid Qamar, Imtiaz Ahmed Shah, Shafiq Arish, Zakir Khaki, Zakir Fiyazi, Dr. Arif Malik, Zakir Shabnam, Wasim Anjum and Muzamal Shah.
The proceedings were conducted by Dr.Liyaqat Nayar Assistant Prof. BGSB University Rajouri.
