CTA delegation calls on Bukhari, Priya Sethi

JAMMU: A delegation of College Teachers Association (CTA) led by its President Jammu Wing, Prof D.S Manhas met Minister for Higher Education, Altaf Bukhari and MoS Higher Education, Priya Sethi submitted a memorandum regarding various issues concerning college fraternity.
The association raised the demand of placement of assistant professors to the associate grade, which is pending for a long time.
“It was stressed that for the placement to associate grade SRO-124 should be implemented prospectively and on pro-rata basis. Further the cases of placement of assistant professors in AGP 7000 and AGP 8000 which are lying with the department for a long time now, should be cleared as per SR0124 as has been done in 2015 by the Higher Education Department,” the association demanded.
The minister assured the association that the demands will be resolved in due course of time and directed commissioner/ secretary to process and expedite the cases of placements.
The association also submitted a memorandum to Priya Sethi and raised the demands of placements in various AGPs and in associate grade, grant of permission to college teachers to act as Guide/Co-Guide for enhancing research activity in colleges and adjustment of principals on vacant posts in various colleges.
The MoS was kind enough to go through the memorandum and assured the association that all the issues will be taken up positively and the cases of placement will be taken on priority basis.
The delegation comprised of Dr Anil Ganjoo, Dr Twinkle Suri, Prof Narayan Dutt, Prof Hans Raj, Prof Mala Bhasin, Dr Revika Arora, Dr Surinder Sharma, Dr Vishal Sharma, Dr Sanjay Kotwal, Dr Jagjit Singh and Dr Narinder Sharma.
