CRPF celebrates Raising Day, felicitates officers, jawans

JAMMU: Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 77th Anniversary at Group Centre CRPF, Bantalab and Kootah.
The force was raised on 27th July 1939 at Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh as Crown representative force. After independence, in 1947 the force was renamed as Central Reserve Police Force.
The celebration started with floral tributes paid to the Martyrs of the force at GC, Bantalab and GC, Kootah.
Kuldeep Dhar, IG, CRPF, Jammu Sector and Pankaj Kumar, IG, CRPF, J and K Zone, other senior officers and jawans of the force attended the occasion.
In the chain of celebration, Pankaj Kumar and Kuldeep Dhar decorated 27 officers and jawnas of CRPF with Director General Disc and commendation letters and 177 officers and jawans with Antrik Suraksha Padak in a function organised at Group Centre, CRPF, Kootah presently functioning at Nagrota.
Families of the Martyrs of the force were also honoured on the occasion.
Pankaj Kumar congratulated all medal recipients in his address to the gathering.
M.C Panwar, DIG, GC Kootah, Pawan Kumar Sharma, DIG, Jammu Sector, S.L.C Khup, DIG, Range Kootah, Neetu, DIG, Jammu Sector and Rakesh Sethi, DIG, Jammu Range were also attended the function.
Bada Khana was organised at GC Kootah in which officers and jawans had their lunch together.
A cultural programme was also held at GC, CRPF, Bantalab in the evening in which families of force personnel were invited.
