AKHNOOR: A Summer Camp organised for the children of Akhnoor Garrison by the Chenab Gunners Brigade under the aegis of the Crossed Swords Division from 1st June, concluded here on Monday.
A number of exciting activities were conducted for the children during the camp including air pistol firing, parasailing, go Karting, arts and crafts, photography, dance and music, best of waste, cooking without fire, pottery, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, visits to places of historical interest and Home for destitute women, tree plantation, classes on First Aid, Traffic Rules and Conservation of Water and Electricity, Public Speaking and Abacus and games to include, Badminton, Basketball and Kho-Kho.
The children learnt new skills and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
The summer camp culminated with a vibrant cultural programme organised by the children, wherein they showcased the various activities conducted during the camp and displayed their proficiency attained in the process. The programme was graced by the presence of Maj Gen Kulpreet Singh, General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division and Naveeta K Singh, Chairperson, Family Welfare Organisation, Crossed Swords Division, who felicitated the talented children for their commendable performance during the camp.
