Criticising PDP for allying with BJP by Omar of no use: Vakil
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil on Saturday describing the screaming of National Conference (NC) at BJP and PDP as cheap political opportunism said that everybody is aware of the fact that ideology and profile of BJP has not changed since its inception.
Vakil said that BJP grabbed power both in the Centre and State purely as a consequence of polarisation and anti-Muslim agenda. He said that Omar Abdullah must not forget his innings as MoS for External Affairs Minister in BJP led Government and on high moral grounds must not speak truth about this anti-Muslim party.
He said that National Conference was the first party from Jammu and Kashmir to ally with communal BJP that too for sake and securing of power and if National Conference would have got some more seats in last Assembly elections then their alliance with BJP was certain and final.
Former minister said that whenever National Conference remains out of power or sense political instability in the State, it raises slogans of so called Autonomy or conditions of accession with India but relegate and forget it when they grab power.
He said that for the lust of power NC never raised any voice or concern over the humiliating rejection of Autonomy report by the then NDA Government.
He also said that both NC and PDP are befooling innocent masses of Jammu and Kashmir, the way it suits them and cautioned people to remain vigilant and careful. Vakil reiterated that it was during the tenure of Omar Abdullah that infamous scams and embezzlements in various departments were reported and a number of ministers raised disproportionate wealth, assets and some were also involved in land grabbing cases but no action was initiated against them however, protection and encouragement was criteria to tackle it.
