Crime Branch presents chargesheet against 2 for duping youth

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police Crime Branch has filed a chargesheet in a court against two persons for duping a man on pretext of providing visa and job in New Zealand, a spokesperson of agency said on Wednesday.
The chargesheet was filed against Rajwinder Singh, son of Sarwan Singh, resident of House No. 46/24 Vishwakarma Nagar, Near Primary School Lamini, Pathankot, presently staying at Jallandhar and Ajay Kumar, son of Tarsem Lal, resident of Ward No.2, Ramgarh, District Samba in the Court of Sub-Judge Jammu in a case registered vide FIR No. 05/2018 under Sections 420, 120-B of RPC at Crime Branch Jammu for duping complainant of his hard earned money on the pretext of providing visa and Job at New Zealand, the spokesperson said.
He further said that a written complaint was lodged by a shopkeeper, Rajesh Kumar, son of Lt Dharam Pal, resident of Ramgarh, District Samba, alleging that Ajay Kumar, in 2016, had induced him on pretext of arranging a job in New Zealand and demanded Rs 10,000 as first installment followed by Rs 1 lakh at time of medical test in Chandigarh, while rest of the amount would be deducted from his salary after joining of job. Rajesh Kumar paid him Rs 10,000.
After sometime, Ajay took him to Rajwinder Singh, proprietor of Inder Abroad Solutions, but neither provided him job visa nor the passport as promised, the spokesperson said, adding that preliminary investigation by the crime branch proved allegations and a formal case was registered for in-depth investigation.
“During the investigation it has also been found that the accused have duped many other people using same modus operandi,” the spokesperson added.
