Crime Branch charge-sheets fraudsters for duping unemployed youth

JAMMU: The Crime Branch Jammu has produced charge-sheet against four accused namely Arshad Hussain Bhat, son of Gh Mohd Bhat, resident of Duroo Sopore, Baramulla, presently working in Fire & Emergency Services Deptt; Saroop Lal, son of Manga Ram, resident of Ward-4 Rajiv Colony, Bari-Brahmana, Samba; Mustaq Ahmed Dar, son of Gh Mohd Dar, resident of Pura Path Handwara Kashmir, a daily-wager in PHE Handwara Kashmir and Pawan Kumar, son of Surinder Kumar, resident of House No-730/3 Last Matador Stand, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu in FIR No. 45/2015 registered under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of RPC read with 5/2 of PC Act at Police Station Crime Branch Jammu for their involvement in cheating complainant on pretext of arranging Government job in lieu of money.
As per details, a complaint was lodged by one Naveen Raina, son of S K Raina, resident of House No. 1371 Bharat Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu, wherein it was alleged that in 2013 accused Pawan Kumar alias Rahul, who was known to him told him that he could get him employed in Government Department for Rs 3 lakh with a guaranteed salary of Rs 13,000 per month. On payment of advance money, accused took the complainant to PHE Office B C Road, Jammu, where he called Saroop Lal and complainant was asked to submit his joining. Even after payment of Rs 3 lakh to accused, the complainant received lesser salary from accused persons so he demanded his money back. Subsequently, a cheque of Rs 50,000 was provided to him by accused Saroop Lal but rest of the amount was not returned. After some time, it was found that appointment order provided by the accused was fake and forged and complainant has been cheated. On receipt of the complaint, Crime Branch Jammu initiated preliminary verification and during enquiry, allegations leveled were prima-facie substantiated, leading to the registration of instant criminal case against the suspects. During the course of investigation, documentary/ oral evidence was gathered. Statement of witnesses was also recorded both under section 164-A of Cr.PC /161 of Cr.PC besides collection of other circumstantial evidence. The offences under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B, 201 of RPC were established against above mentioned accused persons for cheating the complainant with criminal intention after hatching a well planned conspiracy and knowingly and dishonestly, causing wrongful gain to themselves and wrongful loss to complainant by providing fake and forged appointment order. The charge-sheet was produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Jammu for judicial determination.
