JAMMU: Hitting out at State Government for non-creation of posts of Inspector Panchayat in about 200 CD Blocks, All J and K VLWs Association (VLWA) on Monday demanded from the concerned department to create posts of Inspector Panchayat in all newly created CD blocks which are functioning without this post for the last three years.
“Concerned department prepared a proposal for the creation of posts of Inspector Panchayats during the year 2013 and submitted it to Finance Department for concurrence but it turn down the proposal twice,” State President of the Association, Anurudh Singh told reporters, here on Monday.
He criticised the working of Finance Department as this department has approved the posts of Finance and Planning Department only to create the promotion avenues for its own departmental employees.
On the one hand, he said, government is committed for strengthening of Panchayati Raj system but on the other abolished the single and most important post of Inspector Panchayat in these newly created CD blocks.
Now a days the VLWs who are already over burdened, are pressurised to perform the job chart of Inspector Panchayat i.e the Panchayat election process at block level and other Panchayati Raj related issues.
If the posts of Inspector Panchayats are not created by the department within one month, we will go on mass pen down strike and also boycott Panchayat election process, association members warned.
