Covid: 704 new cases in J&K, 10 in Ladakh

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 704 fresh Covid cases on Sunday that took the infection tally to 4,64,764, while one more fatality pushed the death toll to 4,771, officials said.
Of the new cases, 210 were reported from the Jammu division and 494 from the Kashmir valley, they said.
There are 4,859 active cases in the Union Territory, while the overall recoveries have reached 4,55,136, officials said.
There were 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus), they added.
Meanwhile, Ladakh has recorded 10 fresh Covid cases that took the infection tally to 28,871, officials said.
All the new cases were recorded in Leh, they said.
So far, 228 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Ladakh. Of these, 168 deaths were reported from Leh and 60 from Kargil, according to officials.
The number of active cases stands at 123 in Ladakh – 108 in Leh and 15 from Kargil.
A total of 746 sample reports were tested in Ladakh, of which 632 in Leh and 103 in Kargil were found to be negative, officials said. Twenty patients were cured and discharged at hospitals, taking the overall recoveries to 28,511, officials added.
