JAMMU: Special Judge NIA Sunit Gupta granted 30 days judicial custody of PDP leader Waheed ur Rehaman Parra, who was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly conspiring with Hizbul Mujahedeen terrorists to get their support during 2019 parliamentary elections.
Parra was booked by NIA in a case related to his alleged ‘close links’ with Irfan Shafi Mir, who was arrested along with Hizbul Mujahedeen terrorist Naveed Babu and suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police Davinder Singh earlier this year, officials said. According to NIA, during investigation into Singh’s association with Hizbul Mujahedeen terrorists, the NIA came across phone records of Mir, which showed that he was in close contact with Parra.
Special Judge NIA Jammu Sunit Gupta after perusal of application moved by the CIO and CD files, granted thirty days judicial remand of Parra.
