JAMMU: A special court of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday extended the judicial remand Udhampur terror attack accused Mohammad Naved and his five accomplices by 13 days.
Naved along with five Kashmiris accused, who have facilitated the terror attack, were this morning presented before the court by the NIA team.
In view of ongoing investigation, NIA court extended the judicial custody of Naved and others. Naved and another Pakistani terrorist Noman had attacked a Border Security Force bus on August 5 last year on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur in which two BSF troopers and a militant were killed while 11 others were injured.
Special Judge NIA Kishore Kumar after hearing Special PP for NIA whereas Advocates Subodh Singh Jamwal, P.N Bhat and Seema Sharma appearing for the accused persons extended 13 days Judicial Remand of Mohd Naveed alias Usman, son of Mohd Yaqoob, resident of Kukianwala, Rafiq Colony, P.S Ghulam Mohammed Abad, District Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat, son of Gulam Mohammed Bhat, resident of Bhatpora, Chursoo, Awantipora, Pulwama, Showkat Ahmed Bhat, son of Ali Mohd Bhat, resident of village Khardermuh, District Pulwama and Shabzar Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat, resident of Nai Basti, Gulshan Abad, Quimoh, Kulgam, Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo and Fayaz Ahmed Ittoo alias Foyaz alias Fayaz.
Special Judge NIA Kishore Kumar after hearing both the sides and after perusal of the case dairy observed that as per the investigation conducted in this case, one more accused namely Ashiq Hussain Bhat alias Ubaida has also been found involved in the conspiracy behind the attack and he is absconding and has been apprehended till date and more evidences oral and documentary are yet to be collected to finalise the investigation. With these observations Court allowed the application and granted 13 days judicial remand.
